W3C XHTML 1.0
The W3C XHTML 1.0 icon denotes that the XHTML code within the page conforms to <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> - a document standard laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium. You can check this for yourself by clicking on the icon which will run the page through a validator on the W3C website. Conforming to standards ensures that web pages render properly in different web browsers.
W3C css
The W3C css icon denotes that the Cascading Style Sheet definitions used on the web site conform to the standard laid down by the World Wide Web Consortium. Cascading Style Sheets are used to set the style of the web page i.e. font colours and sizes, layout etc.
RSS
The RSS icon denotes that the RSS feeds on this site are valid XML.
UKWDA
The UKWDA icon denotes that we are members of the United Kingdom Web Designers Association. The UKWDA compiles a list of web designers working in the UK and the services they offer. The association aims to improve the quality of web design services on offer and will take note of any complaints against designers that customers may have.
ICRA
The Internet Content Rating Association (ICRA) is an international, non-profit organization of Internet leaders working to make the Internet safer for children. Web site owners can label web pages with labels that use the PICS system - the Platform for Internet Content Selection. The labels are placed within the head section of the documents and respond to Internet filtering software that use the PICS system. Pages with content that a user has set as unsuitable within the software or pages without labels will be blocked to the viewer.
WCAG 1.0
The WCAG 1.0 WAI-AA Approved icon denotes that the web page has been validated to W3C priority level AA. This is an accessibility standard that meets the World Wide Web Consortium accessibility guidelines for disabled Internet users.
